NOSFERATU : TOPH Films : Jarrow Hall

NOSFERATU : TOPH Films : Jarrow Hall

Directed by F. W. Murnau, Nosferatu is the first ever film adaptation of Dracula, albeit with the characters’ names changed so the filmmakers could avoid having to pay author Bram Stoker’s estate. Stoker’s heirs sued over the adaptation and a court ruling ordered that all copies of the film be destroyed.

A few prints of Nosferatu survived however, and the film came to be regarded as a powerful masterpiece of cinema.

With an introduction and live music accompaniment featuring electronics, guitars, vocals, zithers and drum machines, The talented artists of The Old Police House Collective will create an immersive soundtrack for this ground-breaking, hugely-influential (and still very scary) slice of film history unlike anything you’ve heard before.

Tickets £12.50 (£11.25 Concessions/ £10 Unlimited Pass Holders). Available now at the Bede Museum, over the phone on 0191 424 1585 (during public opening times) or online at

Doors 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

This film is a PG – Parental Guidance. All ages admitted, but some certain scenes can be unsuitable for young children.
